Sweet Treats

Hi Everyone!  I hope everyone is having a great weekend.  It's been a busy couple of days for me.  Last Thursday one of Matthew's friends from school dropped off some treats at our house.  It was a nice little unexpected surprise. Here is what we found on our front porch.
Under this paper was a plate of cupcakes.  As soon as the kids saw the cupcakes they went nuts and ran to the table to eat them.  Here are some pictures of them eating their cupcakes.
You would think he would have a big smile on his face because he's got a cupcake.

Since its our turn to drop off some treats at his friends house I decided to make some sugar cookies.  I rolled out the sugar cookies and used a pumpkin cookie cutter to cut them out.  I then made some frosting and colored it orange and then topped them off with some Halloween sprinkles.  Well I needed something to put the cookies in so I bought some more treat bags and filled them with cookies.  Here is what I came up with.

The stamps I used are from Joy's life All Around Sentiment stamps.  I used the Close to my Heart Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge to cut out the scalloped circle.  I love this stamp, it is so versatile and can be used for Holidays or Birthdays.  Check out her stamps if you get a chance, You won't be disappointed.  http://joyslife.com/products/products.html  It was super easy to make, I cut it out and stamped it all while I was making dinner.  I think they came out cute.  That's all I have to share right now.  Hope everyone has a Happy Halloween tomorrow!

Crazy Week

Hi Everyone, Sorry I haven't posted anything lately.  It has been a crazy week for me.  I think my computer has a virus and it is super slow when you try to do anything on it.  I think its got a virus, I'm hoping it doesn't but I'm not a computer person so I have no idea whats actually going on.  I've been trying to finish up the goody bags for my Mother in law and that has kept me busy for a couple of days.  And then on Tuesday I received some bad news, one of my really good friends Son was killed a couple of days ago.  So tonight I'm going to her house to spend some time with her.  On a happier note Matthew had his first field trip today at school.  He went to a pumpkin patch and got to see lots of animals and saw an actual working beehive.  He was so happy when I picked him up because he got to pass out the goody bags that I made for his class.  I brought my camera in hopes of taking pictures of him passing them out but once he started passing them out we couldn't keep up with the kids.  They loved the bags and couldn't stop thanking Matthew.  I'm hoping that I can try and make some crafty this weekend.  I've got to go for now my kids are running around my Mother in law's house.  Talk to you soon, Melisa

I love the little whale.

Halloween Treat Bags

Hello Everyone, Hope everyone had a good weekend.  Today I'm going to share with you the Halloween Treat bags I made for Matthew to pass out to his class on Halloween.  I saw the idea for the treat bags in a video from Pink by Design.  Here is the link to the project and the video.  http://www.pinkbydesignstore.com/Treat-Bag-29.html  The cartridges I used were Mini Monsters and CTMH Art Philosophy.  The stamps I used were from the Pink by Design's Haunting we will go collection.
I laid everything out on my Gypsy to try and fit as much as a I can on one 12x12 sheet of patterned paper.

I used the smaller cuts as a background for the sentiments.

Aren't they cute?

This Matthew's favorite one, he loves anything and everything with skulls.

This one is my favorite.  I just love the Monster.

After my Mother in law saw how cute these came out, she asked me to make some for her.  She wants to pass them out to some of her customers kids for Halloween.  I also wanted to Thank everyone for all the nice comments I've gotten about my projects.  I recently tried out for the Joyslife.com Design team.  It's the first time I've tried out for a design team, so I'm a little nervous.  She is going to announce the Design team on Wednesday on her blog.  So I'm keeping my fingers crossed until then.  Talk to you soon!

Thanks a Hoot

Hello its me.  Thank you for all the nice comments on my blog, I appereciate it.  I made this card yesterday while Nicky & Joey were napping.  It took me longer to choose the papers for this card then it did to actually make the card.  Has that ever happened to you?  I used the CTMH Art Philosophy cartridge and the Hoot n Holler cartridge.  I just love all the owls on the Hoot n Holler cartridge.  Hiding in my craft room is having a challege called Super Scraps Saturday to use scraps that you have just lying around to make a card.  I used a lot of scraps when making this card so I thought I would join in this challenge.  Here is the link, Check it out.    http://www.hidinginmycraftroom.com/

The stamps I used are from Pink by Design.  They are from the Woodland Critters collection.  These stamps are my favorite stamps right now.  That's all I have to share for right now.  Nicky & Joey are down for their naps and my hubby just called me and told me he is going to pick up our oldest son Matthew from school.  Whooo hooo!!  Now its time for me to get Crafty!!

One more post, I promise ;)

Okay, I know in my last post I said that it was the last post for the night but I lied.  :)  I found these pictures on my camera of a couple of layouts that I did a couple of weeks ago.  The first layout is of my twins Nicky & Joey when they were babies.
Sorry abuout not having something fancy to hold the layout, I'm still trying to find something nice to display them when it's time to take pictures of them.  The cartridges I used were Create a critter, Give a hoot, Cricut Essentials and CTMH Art Philosophy.

I tried to re-create the little skunk under the pink box.  I think he is just adorable and came out cute.  The last layout I have to show you is called So Dear.
I also used the Create a Critter cartridge for this layout.  I love the Create a Critter cartridge, I think its great to have if you have kids.  Okay I gotta go make dinner now, Talk to you soon.

Sorry I've been crabby...

Hello again, I'm back to show you a couple of cards that I made recently using my Cricut E2.  The cartridges I used were Create a Critter and CTMH Art Philosophy.  I am absolutely crazy about the CTMH Art Philosophy cartridge.  There are soooo many different things you could make with it.

I just love the little crab from Create a critter.  The stamp I used is the stamp set called "Crikey" from Pink by Design.  I originally bought those stamps to use with the Crocs Rule Cricut cartridge but haven't had a chance to break that cartridge in yet.  I'm hoping that I can try it out later this week.
Here is a close up of the sentiment.  This stamp is perfect for this crab.  The next card I made using the Campin Critters Cricut cartridge.  I think this moose is just adorable.
The card base for both cards was made using the CTMH Art Philosophy cartridge.  Oh so was the little tags for the sentiments for both cards.

See how cute the Moose is.... I'm in love!  The sentiment from this card is also from Pink by Design.  It is from the Woodland Critters collection.

It's kinda hard to tell in the pictures but both the Moose, Crab and sentiments have been popped up with pop dots.  That's all for today.  Have a great night!

My Winning Banner

Hello Everyone, Welcome to my blog.  My name is Melisa and I am a stay at home mommy to 3 boys, Matthew, Nicholas & Joseph.  I'm super lucky that I have a supportive hubby.  I've been scrapbooking for over 13 years now and just recently fell in love with card making.  I got my first Cricut Expression 2 for Mother's day this year and now I'm crazy about Cricut.  A couple of months ago Provo craft had announced a contest for new E2 release on HSN on September 26, 2011.  The only requirements were that you make a banner, it had to say Cricut and you had to use your Cricut.  I've never entered a contest like this before and though it would be fun.  Provo craft said they were going to pick 10 winning banners and the winners would win a New Expression 2.  My banner took me over 12 hours to make, it was a long time but it was worth it.  The cartridges I used were CTMH Art Philosophy, Robotz, Cricut Essentials, Cricut Decals and Mini Monsters.  Guess I've kept you waiting long enough, here it is.
Aren't the Monsters the cutest monsters you've ever seen?  This is the cartridge that convinced me that I absolutely needed a Cricut.
I just love the Monsters.  The googley eyes even glow in the dark.  My banner was chose as one of the winning banners, it was The Circle Blog pick.  I was super excited that it was picked and was also shown on HSN.  Here is the picture of it on HSN.
My mom who doesn't even have cable somehow found it on one of the channels she does have and saw it on TV and then called me super excited that she was able to see it on TV.

Thanks for stopping by my blog and checking out my projects.  I'm going to post some other projects that have done recently.
Thanks for stopping by, Melisa
