Pink by Design Stamp Release & Blog Hop

I'm so excited because today is the Pink by Design Stamp Release and Blog Hop.  The Ustream is also going to be tonight at 8:00pm CST.
If you came here from Kathy then you are in the right place.  If you would like to start at the beginning of the blog hop start over at Pink by Design.
I made a layout to share with you today.  This layout was the first layout I've made in a long time where I didn't use my Cricut to make anything on it.  To make the scalloped border on the left I used a EK Success border punch.

The stamps I used are from the Everyday Banners stamp set from Pink by Design.  They are one of the new releases that are being released today.  This is my new favorite stamp set because it has 2 different banners.  It also comes with different sentiments that you could use with the banners or by themselves.  You can view all the new releases HERE

Here is a good picture of what the banners look like.  The banners in the picture above the smaller banners and the banner below is the biggest banner.

How about some blog candy?  Up for grabs is a 6x6 Hello Luscious paper pad from Basic Grey and 4 wooden spools with 3 yards of twine each.  The red, yellow & aqua twine are from Divine TwineThe red, white and aqua is the new Firecracker twine from Timeless Twine.

So here is my take on this sketch.

Wobble Wednesday "Go Wild" Challenge

It's me again!

I just remembered that the Wobble Wednesday "Go Wild" Challenge ends in a couple of hours.  I thought I had until tomorrow for some reason.  The challenge was to create a card or project with a "Go Wild" theme and to use an Action Wobble on it.  I thought it would be fun to make a card with this cute little owl.

The sentiment is from the You're a Hoot stamp set from Pink by Design.  I love this stamp set because it is all owl themed.

Here is the owl in action.

I'm entering this card into the Wobble Wednesday "Go Wild" challenge.
That's all I have for today, I promise :)

Peachy Keen Anything Goes Challenge

Hi Friends!
Hope you are having a good week.  Today I'm here to share a card with you that I made for the Peachy Keen "Anything Goes" Challenge.  I thought it would be fun to make a Halloween card.  I've had this halloween paper on my scrapbook desk for a while now and this was the perfect challenge to use it for.

I used the CTMH Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge to cut out the card base, rectangle for the sentiment and circle.  I used the Mini Monsters cartridge to cut out the Lil Pumpkin guy.

For the lil pumpkin guy's face I used the Monster Mash Face Assortment from Peachy Keen.  These faces are my favorite set right now.  I can't wait until Halloween time so I can use this set some more.  The "EEK" sentiment came from Pink by Design's A Haunting We Will Go stamp set.  This set is a perfect match with the Monster Mash Face Assortment, the sentiments will work great with this set.

I thought it would be fun to put this little guy on an Action wobble.  He's making me dizzy just by looking at him.  LOL!

Also Pink by Design is having a Stamp Release blog hop and Ustream this Friday June 29.  The Ustream starts at 8pm CST. I hope you'll join us.  There are a lot of great releases that are coming out.  There is going to be some blog candy too.

Thanks for stopping by!

Red, White & Blue Challenge

Happy Monday Everyone!

Pink by Design is has another Ink it Pink Challenge going on right now and I thought I would play along.  This week's challenge is to make a project using the colors Red, White & Blue.  I knew I had this pictures to scrapbook so I thought I would make a layout for this challenge.

The stamps I used the Red, White and Blue stamp set from Pink by Design.  I used red and blue ink to ink around the sentiments as well.

I recently bought this Firecracker Twine from Timeless Twine.  I love that it is red, white and aqua.  I can't wait to use it again.

I'm linking this up in the Ink it Pink Challenge going on over at Pink by Design.  You still have time to participate.  It doesn't end until tomorrow.

The Cricut cartridges I used were Elegant Edges for the Scalloped border and CTMH Art Philosophy for the sentiments.

Thanks for stopping by today!  Have a great week!

First day of Kindergarten Layout

Hey There!
Today I have a quick layout to share with you.  I made this layout for the Scrappy Monday Challenge going on over at My Creative time.  I really like playing along with challenges for layouts especially ones where I have to make a layout based off a sketch.  This is the sketch we were supposed to use.  We were also supposed to use jute, twine, burlap or hemp on our layout.  I decided to use twine from The Twinery

I decided to make this layout about Matthew's First day of Kindergarten.  I did make a couple of changes, instead of using a 6x4 photo I used a 5x7.  Instead of having two 2x3 photos I made a box for my journaling.  I also cut out an apple and put my title inside the apple, instead of a circle with journaling.

For my title I used the School Days stamp set from Pink by Design.  I used the Cappuccino twine to wrap a bow around the stem of the apple and around my journaling box.

I used the Denim Twine to wrap around my picture. I placed a small glue dot on my picture and then gathered the twine and stuck it to the glue dot.  Then I put some more glue dots on the button and then placed it on the picture.

The Cricut cartridges I used are CTMH Art Philosophy (Square4 and Rectangles) and Recess Lite (Apple).

Thanks for stopping by!

Just like Daddy Layout

Happy Monday!

Today I'm here to show you a layout I made for the Ink it Pink challenge.  The challenge was to make a card or project.  I thought it would be fun to make a layout of my husband and son Matthew.

For the sentiments I used the Tool Time stamp set from Pink by Design.  The pennant and shapes for the sentiments are from the CTMH Art Philosophy cartridge.

To make the base for the title, I made a second octagon just slightly larger than the first one.

The screwdriver is from the Boys will be boys cartridge.  The font for the title is from the DoodleTime cartridge.  The octagon is from the George & Basic Shapes cartridge.

I'm entering this layout into the following challenges:

Peachy Keen Sketch Challenge

Happy Saturday Everyone!

I hope you are having a great Father's Day weekend.  This weeks the challenge over at Peachy Keen is to create a card or layout using the sketch below.

One of my friends from High school recently had a baby girl and I thought I would make her a card.  I came across this pretty pink paper at my local scrapbook store and I thought it would be perfect to make her a card with.  The paper is from the Doodlebug Designs Inc Sugar & Spice collection.  I also bought the Snips & Snails 12x12 paper pack to work on my boys albums.

The sentiment I used is from the Sweet Baby stamp set from Pink by Design.  The face of the baby is from the Just Baby Faces Assortment from Peachy Keen Stamps.

The Cricut cartridges I used were the CTMH Art Philosophy (Card base, Rectangles & Pennants) & Baby Steps cartridge (Moon baby).

Don't forget that the Ink it Pink Challenge is still going on over at Pink by Design.  The challenge is to create a Masculine card or project.

Thanks for stopping by today!  Hope you have a great weekend.

A Couple of Challenges

Hi Crafty Friends!

How's your week going?  Mine is good.  I was finally able to do some crafting.  My boys got sick last weekend and are finally feeling better now.  I found a couple of challenges that I thought would be fun to participate in.  Here is the frame I made for my hubby.

I bought this frame from Michael's for $1.00.  I painted the whole frame with a white acrylic paint.  Once the paint was dry,I used the frame to cut my paper out and glued it to the frame.  I used the chestnut roan Chalk inks to ink the edges of the frame.  I cut out the "BBQ man" and BBQ from the Block Party Cricut  Lite Cartridge.  I also put some pop dots behind the BBQ but it is hard to tell in the picture.

The face on the "BBQ Man" is from the Peachy Keen Retro Paper Doll Face Assortment.   I just love the look on his face.  The Happy Father's Day is from Joy's Life Holiday Occasion's Stamp set

This stamp set is from My Thoughts Exactly Grillin' n' Chillin'  stamp set.  The "BBQ Man" is on an Action wobble.  Looks like he had a little too much to drink, he's a little tipsy.  Haha.

Here he is in action.  Maybe he did have a little too much to drink.  :)  I had to trim my Action wobble to fit under "BBQ Man".  This was also my last Action Wobble, time to buy some more.  I am having so much fun adding them to my projects.

Don't forget to stop on by Pink by Design tomorrow.  There will be another new challenge to participate in.  I hope you will join us in the challenge.

**I'm entering my frame in the following challenges.**

Friends to the End Card

Hi Crafty Friends!
I can't believe I forgot to post this on my blog.   It has been a crazy week trying to finish up the goody bags for Matthew's class before the last day of school.  This was my post last week over at Pink by Design.

Today I have a new technique I thought I'd share with you. I thought it would be fun to try something different. My newest obsession is Twine; I can't get enough of it. I wanted the twine to be the main focus and not a die cut like normal. So I cut out the card base from the CTMH Art Philosophy cartridge and the butterfly background is from the Elegant Edges cartridge. I added the top two butterflies from the CTMH Art Philosophy cartridge and welded them onto the white paper using my gypsy. I then cut out the butterflies again but cut them slightly larger than their original sizes, this way the pink cardstock wouldn't show through.

When I made the purple butterfly I didn't use any type of adhesive on the front, I just used glue dots on the back of the butterfly.  Then wrapped the twine around the butterfly. After completing the first butterfly I noticed that the front didn't look as nice on the front as it did on the back. So when making the second butterfly I used glue dots on the front and the back of the butterfly and then started wrapping the twine on the butterfly. It was a little tricky handling the butterflies with the glue dots on both sides, but once there was some twine on the butterflies it was easier.  Now by using the glue dots on both sides I ended up using a lot of glue dots, especially since there were 3 butterflies.

In the picture above you can see what it looks like after I started wrapping the twine around the butterfly and how I laid out the glue dots. I also just added a little bit of the glue dots at a time this way the twine wouldn't get stuck on the glue dots and start to look bad.

Here are the butterflies all covered with the twine. You can't even tell that there is patterned paper under the twine. I just love how they turned out.

The next thing I did was lay them out under the white paper. This way I could see where I needed to put the glue dots around the butterflies on the back so they would stick to it. I also stamped my sentiment and inked the edges before I added the glue dots.

After adding the twine to the butterflies they became really thick. So to help with the thickness of the butterflies I added pop dots around the edges of the white paper so the paper would lay nice and flat on my cardstock.

Here is a close up of the butterflies and the sentiment. The sentiment is from the Friends to the End stamp set. I forgot to mention that when I was wrapping the twine around the butterflies I tried to wrap them all a little different so the pattern on each of them would be a little different.

So here is the whole card. I love the way it came out, and that it's completely different from what I would normally make.  What do you think?  So leave me some comments and tell me what you think.

I used a sentiment inside the card as well. This sentiment is from the Summer Vacation stamp set.

Thanks for stopping by today!

End of school year treat bags

Hi Crafty Friends!

Well Matthew's last day of kindergarten is finally here.  I can't believe how much he has grown this year.  This is a picture of him and his teacher. I thought it would be fun to make some goody bags for him to pass out to his classmates on the last day of the school.

I bought these adorable bags from Whisker Graphics.  There are a couple of different sizes of bags.  The ones I bought are the "Middy Bitty Bags".  I also bought the Divine Twine from Whisker Graphics.

The sentiment is from the Summer Vacation stamp set from Pink by Design.

I filled up the bags with various types of candy like Starbursts and Jolly Ranchers.  This way I wouldn't have to worry about them melting in the bags and making a big mess.

I cut out the scalloped circle and circle from the CTMH- Art Philosophy cartridge.  I must use that cartridge at least once on each of my projects.

Hope you have a good rest of the week.

This is the life card

Hi Everyone!

How's your week going?  My oldest son's last day of school is Thursday.  It's hard to believe that he will be in first grade in a couple of months.  Time sure does fly once you have kids.  I'll be back later in the week to show you the goody bags I made for him to pass out to his class on the last day of school.  Today I have a card to share with you.  I made it to play along with a couple of challenges that are going on right now.    The challenges are listed at the bottom of this post.

The sentiment is from the Summer Vacation stamp set.  The little girl's face is from the Wide Eyed Kids Face Assortment from Peachy Keen.

The Cricut Cartridges I used were CTMH Art Philosophy (Card base, Squares and oval), Pack your Bags (Girl on inner tube).  The twine is from The Twinery

The little girl is on an Action Wobble.  Poor thing is going to get sea sick with all that moving around.  My kids get a kick out of watching the little girl move around.

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:

Stuck on U Sketches: I love summer

Bitten by the Bug 2: Water theme

Pink Cricut: Link up party
